What the Bible Has to Say About Marriage
It was the first book ever published via printing press, and more copies have sold than of any other volume. People all around the world use its sayings on a daily basis, but you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who truly knows the wisdom it provides. god's plan for us was detailed in the Bible. Any given situation is discussed in the Bible and lets you know how God wants you to handle that situation. One of the main themes in the Bible is that of marriage. God tells us right away in Genesis that it isn't right for man to be alone, and then he went about creating a woman to be man's partner for the purposes of companionship and procreation. Are you wondering what else the Bible has to say on the topic of marriage?
In the Bible God gives us a clear description of what marriage is. A woman and a man form a union known as marriage. He goes on to state that engaging in any other type of union is a sin. Paul discusses God's wrath against mankind in the book of Romans. He goes on to say that God was very angry when “their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones with lust for one another.” He also discussed how “Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”
Even without this vivid description of how people were already using sex and marriage inappropriately, we can also get a picture of the way that true husbands and wives are supposed to be. Paul was speaking to ancient people who shared the morals of their time; and the advice he shared back then doesn't resonate well with some of the modern women of today. The husband was supposed to be obeyed by his wife and allowed to be the head of the household. Husbands are first supposed to leave their parents, then marry a wife whom he loves as he loves himself.
There is no mention of divorce plans in the Bible. Jesus clearly says in the book of Matthew that “anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness and marries another woman commits adultery.” He also says that it is not vital that one get married. However, if one can accept the marital teachings, then it is fine for him to marry. However, only a husband and wife should have children. Therefore, people would have to get married in order for the human race to survive.
